Carly Tomaine is the Director of the Jay Henges Center for Youth Leadership at Leadership Institute. In this position, she leads a team that travels across the country to train conservative activists on how to effectively run a youth campaign, run for student government, and win for candidates and causes of their choice.

Previously serving as Director of LI's Flagship school, the Youth Leadership School, she doubled the number of graduates in the program from 2021 to 2022. Carly and her team broke the record for the largest YLS twice; 285 students trained in 2022 and 311 students trained in 2023. 

Her team has a record breaking year in 2023, training 1250 students in the YLS. 

Carly's eariler work in the Center involved transitioning the YLS to a fully digital experience and selecting historic-destination cities for programming, to improve the overall experience for students. 

In 2023 on her personal time, Carly served as the Communications Director on the Jacob Landry State Representative campaign, handling the day-to-day communication campaign needs, social media, media inquiries, and events. 

During the fall semester of 2019, Carly served as the Leadership Institute’s Pennsylvania Field Representative in the Campus Leadership Program. She traveled across the Commonwealth and successfully started 15 new groups on campus, and collected over 2300 new conservative student contacts.

In 2018, Carly served as the Grassroots Director for the Dan Meuser for Congress Campaign in Pennsylvania. She successfully organized volunteers that made over 100,000 phone calls and knocked over 10,000 doors. Later that year, she worked as a Field Organizer for the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, in Luzerne County, PA.

Carly interned on the Donald J. Trump for President Inc. Campaign in 2016, in the Northeast Pennsylvania Headquarters and currently serves on Pennsylvania Republican State Committee for Lackawanna County.

Originally from Scranton, Carly is a graduate of Misericordia University with a B.S. in Government, Law, and National Security and Business Management.
